All the items I make are made from vintage or second hand fabric. Where possible I always specify what the fabric is.
I typically use vintage curtains, bed sheets, duvets, pillow cases, throws and table cloths.
All the fabrics are washed before pattern cutting - I either hand wash or I use the delicate wash selection on the washing machine which is a hand wash mode, but all washing machines are different so if in doubt - hand wash yourself.
NEVER tumble dry vintage, is it far too harsh and the fabrics cannot take it. Always leave out to dry naturally.
